UF Blue Key Leadership Honor Society

Recently elected to the elite Florida Blue Key Leadership Honor Society are Cassie Kilcoyne, Merrin Jenkins, and Josh Monroe, all graduates of St. Mary's class of 2002. Florida Blue Key is the highest honor at the University of Florida. Congratulations to these distinguished alumni!

Order of the Gold and Black Honor Society Board

The Order of the Gold and Black, Plant High's most prestigious honor society, accepted 18 outstanding juniors for the 2008-2009 school year. Five of those tapped are St. Mary's Saints, and the society board is completely comprised of St. Mary's alums! Congratulations to, Alex Hagan, Nicole Morrison, Staige Hoffman, Ellen Moore, and Kelly Darnell.

St. Mary’s is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools. 

St. Mary’s Math Team won the 2008 Algebra Competition hosted by Berkeley Prep in April 2008. 

Mrs. LuAnn Holmes and Mrs. Helen McGrath were inducted into the St. Mary’s Distinguished Faculty Society in May 2008.

Congratulations to members of St. Mary's Class of 2005 who received prestigious 2008 Book Awards:

Taylor Ayral received the Caltech Book Award at Tampa Preparatory School.

Cameron Hill was awarded the Dartmouth College Book Award at Plant High School.

Kelsey Jarrett received the Bryn Mawr Book Award at Tampa Preparatory School.

Robert Kouwe was awarded the Columbia University Book Award at Jesuit High School.

Russell Moore received the Cornell University Book Award at Jesuit High School.

Alena Ransom was the recipient of the Smith College Book Award at Tampa Preparatory School. 

Alena was also awarded the William J. Angell, II, Scholarship, and received the Grade 11 Faculty Award for the student who best exemplifies the moral and intellectual ideals of the school. 

Daniel Stefany was awarded the Furman University Book Award at Jesuit High School

Megan Wall was the recipient of the Dartmouth Book Award at Tampa Preparatory School.

More than 40 new families joined the St. Mary’s community this fall when the new school year began on August 20th.

100% of faculty and staff at St. Mary’s contribute to the school’s Annual Giving Campaign each year.

St. Mary’s is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

We proudly graduated 42 students in the Class of 2008 on May 30th.

St. Mary’s alumna Meg Anderson, ’05, is a three-time state swimming champion – 2005, 2006, and 2007.

St. Mary’s is accredited by the Florida Kindergarten Council.

The 2008 Scholarship Award, given to the student who has maintained the highest academic average since the sixth grade, was presented to Katherine King.

The 2008 Student Award, given to the student who, by a vote of his fellow students, has best exemplified leadership, respect for others, and sportsmanship, was presented to Sean Gilmore and Matt Sanders.

The 2008 Faculty Award, given to the student who, by a vote of the faculty, has shown high ideals, a sense of honor, and a spirit of service to the school, was presented to Macy Moore and Trey Morrison.

The 2008 Headmaster’s Award, given to the student who has best exemplified sustained effort and achievement in studies and outside activities, was presented to Josie Little.

Class of 2008 Fine Arts Award recipients are Allie Anderson, Music; Katherine King, Performing Arts; and Shelby Gilmore, Visual Arts.

St. Mary’s offers ten different sports, which involves 25 different teams for our middle school students, offering multiple athletic opportunities for all students.

Mary Olive Gauthier, ’12, sang the National Anthem at a Tampa Bay Rays game this season.
