St. Mary's School welcomes all inquiries, and we look forward to learning more about your family. Due to the competitive nature of the admissions process, families are encouraged to contact the school as early as possible. To inquire about the Admission process or to schedule a visit, please call the Admissions Office at (813) 258-5508.

The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants on the basis of the application, the applicant's school record, teacher recommendation, interviews, observations, and admissions assessments. The Admissions Committee considers academic skills, motivation to learn, developmental and social readiness, talents, personal interests, and desire to attend St. Mary's. Through these criteria, the school seeks to admit children who demonstrate a likelihood of success within a challenging environment, high moral character, and appropriate social adjustment.

Applications should be submitted by December of the year before the student wishes to enroll in St. Mary's Episcopal Day School.  Applications received after the scheduled assessment dates will be considered only if space remains available for the applicant's specific grade level. Please call the Admissions Office for more information on this schedule.

St. Mary's is a family-oriented school and is the primary mission of the Parish Church. In keeping with the mission statement of the school and parish, it is the school's desire to reflect, as best able, the diversity of our community. Special consideration in the admissions process is given to qualified students who are siblings of students currently enrolled at St. Mary's School, whose families are active members of St. Mary's Church, or whose parents are graduates of St. Mary's.

Children entering Pre-Kindergarten must be four years old (Kindergartners five years old and first graders six years old) by September 1 of the academic year.

It is the expectation of all St. Mary's graduates that they will continue their academic careers in a challenging college preparatory program at the secondary school of their choice.

St. Mary's Episcopal Day School admits students of any race, creed, color, or national or ethnic origin.
