Partnering in Growth

Get involved at St. Mary's

We wholeheartedly believe that to launch good citizens, students must benefit from not only a school and home partnership, but also an entire community partnership that wants them to grow and succeed. That's why getting involved at St. Mary's is so important–and there many opportunities to do so.

  • St. Mary's Parents' Association
  • St. Mary's Board of Trustees and its subcommittees
  • Classroom and on-campus opportunities
  • Volunteering at St. Mary's Episcopal Church
  • Gift giving

Whether it be contributing your time and talents or making financial gifts, whatever your choice, each path is valuable to us and plays an integral role in the day-to-day lives of the more than 450 students who come to St. Mary’s each day.

Be a saint

A guide to giving

Thank you for being a Saint and considering supporting St. Mary's Episcopal Day School either monetarily or with the gift of your time! Outlined in this guide is detailed information and the variety of ways you can donate and volunteer.

Partner.

First and foremost, the easiest way to be a Saint is to be a good partner with us throughout your student’s St. Mary’s journey. During the seven or so hours we have your child on campus each day, we are doing all that we can to give them the best possible education in an environment where every student is known by name and loved. We recognize that school has changed vastly over the years, and we encourage open communication with teachers and administration on how you can help your student at home.

Volunteer.

St. Mary’s would not exist without the countless volunteer hours dedicated by our community. While a majority of these hours are coordinated through the selfless work of our Parents’ Association, there are many other opportunities available throughout the year in your student’s Homeroom and beyond. Whether you are a whiz at the Dewey Decimal System, handy with a glue gun, or have other talents, you can be a Saint by giving your time -  we are grateful for volunteerism big and small!

Donate.

St. Mary’s is blessed to be a financially sound institution thanks to the hard work of our Administration and Board of Trustees. The school relies on financial support from our annual appeal, the Heart of Gold Fund, to assist with projects not otherwise covered under the operating budget. You can be a Saint by donating to this important fund. All gifts, not matter the size, are important to our community and truly make a difference in the lives of our students.

St. Mary's Parents' Association

As a parent at St. Mary’s, you are automatically enrolled as a member of the Parents’ Association and can choose to be as active (or inactive) as you'd like! The Parents' Association is an integral part of the St. Mary’s story and most importantly is tasked with making all parents feel connected by building a strong community. Monthly meetings highlight activities of various committees and include important updates from the Head of School and Rector of St. Mary's Church.

St. Mary's Board of trustees

The Board of Trustees has the responsibility of maintaining the Schools’ financial health, selecting the Head of School, and, in consultation with school Administration, setting school policy. The Board and Administration, as the primary decision making bodies, are involved in long-range planning.

Board members are nominated and considered by current Trustees and Administration when there are vacancies. Non- Trustee volunteers also have the opportunity to serve on the
subcommittees listed above.

St. Mary's Church

Our school is blessed to be affiliated with St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Tampa. The Vestry shares with the school events where our community might be interested in attending or assisting. St. Mary's Church is a vibrant and inclusive community that welcomes all with open arms and provides engaging opportunities for parishioners of all ages. With every action, Saint Mary's Church embodies its purpose: To Know Christ and Make Him Known.

Make a gift to St. Mary's

We're able to put our Learn~Love~Lead motto into action each school year via tuition
dollars and money raised through our most important appeal, the Heart of Gold Fund. The
Board of Trustees and Administration target specific projects not covered by the operating budget and offers donors a Family of Funds approach to designate their gift to an area that inspires them. For as long as the campaign has existed, St. Mary's has celebrated 100% participation from the faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees, and aims for 100% parent participation each spring. Each and every gift truly enriches our students lives and empowers them to unlock their full potential.
