once a saint, always a saint

When you graduate from St. Mary's it isn't goodbye, it's see you soon. Our administration, faculty, and staff take pride in the school's alumni initiatives and look forward to interacting with former students throughout the year. Our community is here to support our alums through each phase of life with annual high school visits, the time-honored tradition of Senior Sendoff, periodic adult alumni gatherings, and more.

One walk through our Alumni Atrium on campus and it's easy to see that our alumni are accomplishing great things! We have more than 150 pennants hanging on the walls representing the colleges and universities our former students have attended. They have become valedictorians, Rhodes Scholars, national champions, engineers, restaurateurs, dentists, doctors, teachers, attorneys, opera singers, press secretaries, professional athletes, dancers, stock brokers, White House Liaisons...the list goes on! But what makes us most proud is when our alums become St. Mary's parents themselves.

Alumni high school visit group photo.HIGH SCHOOL VISITS

St. Mary's head of school, Mr. Salvo, together with members of the administration and faculty, visits local high schools each school year to check-in with former students. This practice is unique to St. Mary's and one that our team and students look forward to every year. It's a fantastic opportunity for us to meet students where they are (literally!) and learn about their academic, athletic, and social accomplishments.

If your student has changed schools, please e-mail alumni@smeds.org so that we can make sure they receive an invitation to their high school visit!

Each spring, our high school senior alumni are invited with their families to gather on campus one last time for Senior Sendoff. This beloved tradition has been celebrated for more than 25 years and is one that families look forward to with each graduating student. The evening is a celebration of both past, present, and future. Mr. Salvo reminisces with students about their favorite St. Mary's memories, highlights high school accolades, and learns about post high school plans.
